JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Physician Practices, the Occupational Medicine Clinician will perform registration for patients presenting for services, administer charges for procedures, maintain documentation, be willing for on the job training in Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with The Joint Commission, OSHA, DOT, federal, state, and local guidelines, organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Must communicate with medical staff, other departments, and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality. Position requires self-motivation, creativity, and capabilities to function in a semi-autonomous role within a fast pace and dynamic environment.


STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

1. Performs registration for all patients presenting for service.

2. Uses appropriate clinical judgment in delivering care and in emergency situations.

3. Obtains, inputs, and transcribes accurate patient data in a timely manner.

4. Completes necessary forms including proper documentation/signatures, insurance information, either on paper, or on scanner.

5. Enters data into computer with minimal errors.

6. Performs as cashier for payments and maintains cash receipts with accuracy.

7. Scan of all records into electronic medical records.

8. Perform DOT, Non-DOT and E-screen Drug testing with proper technique and competency.

9. Perform Breath Alcohol testing with proper technique and competency.

10. Performs Audio-testing with competency.

11. Order or administers immunizations as ordered by physician and may be required by regulatory agencies and infection control policies.

12. Understands the process for following up with the Physician/provider.

13. Uses proper technique to perform Phlebotomy for blood collection.

14. Answers telephone(s) using appropriate Customer Service skills.

15. Schedules appointments for ECB OM department.

16. Act as an ambassador for the facility by interacting with clients, family members, and staff in a friendly caring manner.

17. Ensures adherence to proper infection control, OSHA and safety standards.

18. Performs other duties as assigned/needed/required.

19. Provides support for other team members when needed.

Requirements

Minimum Level of Education: High school diploma or GED.

Formal Training: Trained in Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT), Audio, Spirometry and Drug Testing preferred or willing to complete training program within the first year of employment.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: None

Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical healthcare field preferred.

Tools and Equipment Used: Calculator, personal computer, telephone, facsimile machine, paper shredder, copier, printer, mag-stripe card readers, card scanners, signature scanners, Chain of Custody Forms, Rapid Test Drug Screen Cups, Breath Alcohol Machine
