We are seeking a leader who is passionate about quality and dedicated to fostering a coaching culture. As the Group Manager | GIS, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our GIS Group—both in-person and virtually—across HRG’s footprint. Your commitment to a people-centric leadership approach will be instrumental in ensuring high standards in project execution and client satisfaction. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Leadership & Coaching: Inspire and coach group members to enhance our employee-owner culture and drive engagement in their professional development. 
  • Project Management: Ensure timely and superior project delivery while collaborating across service groups. 
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure long-term partnerships and satisfaction. 
  • Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets, prioritize workloads, and ensure fiscal responsibility. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Operations and Service AVPs to address staffing, resource allocation, and operational efficiency. 
Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Surveying, GIS, or a related field 
  •  8+ years of comprehensive experience in diverse GIS projects, delivering on time and within budget, including:

              - Large and small-scale municipal mapping initiatives 

              - Development of GIS databases for municipal or private use 

              - Familiarity with GPS survey techniques and GIS applications in Civil Engineering 

  • Appropriate licensure or certification preferred 
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local GIS databases 
  • Proficiency in ESRI products, including ArcView, ArcGIS, ArcInfo, and web-based GIS applications, along with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation is a plus 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative teams, with a strong emphasis on coaching, mentoring, and fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and stakeholders at all levels of the organization virtually, by telephone, or in-person 
  • Experience in client relations, proposal preparation, project budgeting, and public presentations 
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, planning and organizational skills
