As a member of the Consumer Risk team within the Retail Bank Risk Office, you’ll be challenged to shape the risk mitigation strategy for one or more areas of Consumer Retail Bank. You’ll work with various stakeholders to identify unmitigated risks and assist with opportunities to strengthen the control environment to reduce risks for the business while building lasting partnerships. This role will focus on risks and controls impacting one or more of our retail bank processing functions and help enable a well-managed risk environment.
Senior Risk Advisors at Capital One are highly motivated risk management professionals with an ability to think critically and problem solve. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with senior management to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. Risk Advisors are expected to have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
● Facilitate various Risk Assessments engaging with the line of business and vertical Risk
Advisory, as well as Compliance and Operational Risk Management to proactively identify and remediate potential risks.
● Review and analyze business processes (including FMEA and Process Maps) to assess the current risk and control environment, ensuring impacts are appropriately assessed, documented and implemented.
● Develop and leverage relationships with stakeholders to enable collaboration across the organization while meeting the 2nd line compliance requirements for the well managed agenda.
● Problem Management - Identify and track Problems to mitigate risk within Retail Bank Consumer. Coordinate with applicable business areas to define and implement timely remediation activities.
● Audit and Exam Management - Provide support to business partners during audits and regulatory exams; support in the delivery of key risk mitigation and remediation activities.
● Implement and deliver on a subset of horizontal program deliverables.
● Possess solid verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholder groups.
● Apply sound inquiry and analysis to make recommendations and decisions.
● Be intellectually curious to question the obvious, explore options, and develop alternatives.
Basic Qualifications:
● At least 2 years of Risk Management experience
● At least 1 year Project Management experience
● At least 1 year of Google Suite experience such as Gmail, Slides, Sheets, Docs, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Bachelor's Degree
● 3+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects or programs in Risk
● 3+ years of Financial Services risk management experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Risk Associate
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary dependingApply for this role
