Database Administrator (PowerBI/Fabric Architect)

<strong>ASSYST </strong>is seeking a <strong>Database Administrator</strong> with expertise in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric architecture to support our client in<strong> Tallahassee, Florida. </strong><br />

The Database Administrator will lead the development, deployment, and governance of enterprise-grade Power BI solutions. In addition to designing high-performance dashboards and reports, the selected candidate will help establish a Power BI Center of Excellence and promote best practices in data governance, metadata management, and semantic modeling.<br />

<br />
<strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong>
<ul>
<li>Serve as the enterprise expert on Power BI architecture, reporting, and governance.</li>
<li>Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data visualization solutions.</li>
<li>Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports aligned with business needs.</li>
<li>Lead and contribute to the formation of a Power BI Center of Excellence.</li>
<li>Implement and enforce data governance policies, metadata management, and semantic models.</li>
<li>Connect Power BI to diverse data sources (on-premise and cloud-based).</li>
<li>Configure and monitor Power BI data gateways and refresh schedules.</li>
<li>Administer and manage Power BI environments, including user access, workspaces, and security settings.</li>
<li>Provide lifecycle management of Power BI components (patching, updates, capacity planning).</li>
<li>Monitor performance and optimize Power BI infrastructure and dashboard efficiency.</li>
<li>Deliver training, documentation, and user support for Power BI adoption across the organization.</li>
<li>Support Power Platform integration including Power Apps and Power Automate.</li>
<li>Manage multiple environments (Development, Test, Production) with standardized processes.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with organizational security and data access policies.</li>
<li>Provide system support, troubleshooting, and technical guidance for data visualization initiatives.</li>
<li>Maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, configuration, and support practices.</li>
<li>Transfer knowledge to internal staff to build long-term operational sustainability.</li>
</ul>
<strong>Requirements:</strong>

<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Visualization, Communication, or a related field and at least 4 years of relevant experience.</li>
<li>Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience building <strong>Power BI dashboards.</strong></li>
<li>Experience across the <strong>full development lifecycle:</strong> requirements gathering, design, implementation, and maintenance.</li>
<li>Minimum 4 years of experience with <strong>data visualization dashboards.</strong></li>
<li>Proficient with <strong>Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query, DAX, and data gateway management.</strong></li>
<li>Strong knowledge of <strong>data modeling, ETL processes, </strong>and <strong>data warehousing concepts.</strong></li>
<li>Experience with Microsoft Fabric architecture is strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Familiarity with <strong>Power Apps (Canvas &amp; Model-Driven), Power Automate, and Common Data Service (Dataverse).</strong></li>
<li>Experience with<strong> Office 365 APIs, app development, </strong>and<strong> integration.</strong></li>
<li>Ability to use and customize connectors in <strong>Power Platform solutions.</strong></li>
<li>Hands-on experience with <strong>Azure integrations and services.</strong></li>
<li>Experience managing and deploying in multiple environments <strong>(Dev/Test/Prod)</strong>.</li>
<li>Familiarity with configuration management and deployment strategies.</li>
