Sr Designer- CAD and Configuration Management , Fauna

We are looking for a Senior Designer to work closely with our design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to create and maintain CAD models, manage configuration control, and deliver complete documentation packages to support prototype and production builds.

Key job responsibilities
Modeling & Drafting
- Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings based on engineering and industrial design input. Translate inputs into CAD parts and assemblies.
- Apply GD&T and drawing standards to ensure clarity, accuracy, and manufacturability.
- Organize CAD data for traceability in Onshape PDM systems.
- Prepare initial engineering BOMs directly from CAD assemblies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and improve drafting standards.

Configuration Management
- Maintain revision control for drawings, CAD models, and BOMs.
- Create structured, multi-level BOMs (mechanical, electrical, purchased parts).
- Ensure CAD–system alignment and maintain BOM synchronization with stakeholders.
- Manage the engineering change process (change orders, approvals, documentation).
- Maintain document control systems to ensure configuration integrity.

Manufacturing Support
- Deliver complete CAD and documentation packages for contract manufacturer (CM) quoting and build handoff.
- Support manufacturing engineers and technicians during builds by clarifying drawings, providing geometry for fixtures/jigs, and incorporating feedback.
- Validate that manufactured parts and assemblies align with released documentation.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in design review process to incorporate electrical, mechanical, automation controls solutions to drive equipment reliability and standards
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design drafting or CAD engineering
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing creation (Onshape, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and engineering drawing standards
- Experience with configuration management, revision control, and engineering change order (ECO) processes

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
