Cortez - Facilities Maintenance Technician, Trash Disposal

Position Description:

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician (Trash Disposal) to join our team. 

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for Mine trash pickup and transportation to our landfill. Work includes outdoor, mine setting, which may include exposure to large equipment, working on uneven surfaces, working in extreme temperatures. A successful candidate must demonstrate safety as a priority. Personal protective equipment is required when performing this work.

 

Responsibilities:

 Safely and effectively perform Trash Removal for the Cortez site. (Main Job Function)

• Safely and effectively perform facility repair and remodeling. 
• Safely and effectively perform concrete flat work, tile, drywall, painting and welding. 
• Safely and effectively operate excavation equipment and tools.
• Safely and effectively roof repairs.
• Safely and effectively perform door and lockset repairs.
• Work closely with HVAC and plumbing technicians to perform needed replacement and repairs. 

 

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Excavation equipment experience preferred.
• Valid drivers’ license is required.
• 4 years Mining experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds required. 
• Perform job responsibilities with integrity under minimal to no supervision required.
• Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy required.
• Excellent organizational, time management skills required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently required.
• Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills, with a courteous and pleasant customer service focus required.
• Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills required.
• Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate required.
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards required.
• Willingness to work weekends and possible overtime required.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions required.
