About the role

What Product Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes. Product Engineering is responsible for developing iterations, modifying, implementing and supporting existing products that function within the product families through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices.

Cardinal Health PET Manufacturing Services is responsible for manufacturing PET isotopes to enhance patient treatment through improved disease diagnosis, staging, and monitoring. Leveraging our fully integrated network of domestic nuclear pharmacies, Cardinal Health PET Manufacturing Services compounds, dispenses, and distributes patient-specific, unit-dose PET products in pharmacy markets today.

What Cyclotron Engineer contributes to Cardinal Health

Our Cyclotron Engineering team provides support to our PET production sites that manufacture products from about midnight through 9 am. Engineers provide maintenance to the manufacturing systems (cyclotron and chemical synthesis units) outside of these hours and are also on call if there are issues during production. The systems we work with are radioactive so for safety reasons much-planned maintenance is performed late afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

The primary work environment consists of a cyclotron and associated manufacturing facility for the production of PET radiopharmaceuticals, which must be kept clean, orderly, properly lighted, and maintained in optimum operating condition.  Employees handle radioactive materials and are exposed to very low amounts of radiation that are deemed safe by current standards.

The candidate must be located or willing to relocate within 40 miles of one of the following NPHS PET manufacturing facilities: AL-Birmingham PET, AZ-Phoenix PET, CA-Colton PET, CA-Sacramento PET, CO-Denver PET, GA-Augusta PET, KS-Wichita PET, KY-Louisville PET, MD-Beltsville PET, MN-Roseville PET, NC-Charlotte PET, NE-Omaha PET, NM-Albuquerque PET, NY-Rochester PET, TN-Memphis PET, TX-Dallas PET, TX-Houston PET, WA-Seattle PET, IL-Glendale Heights PET, CA-Van Nuys PET, CT-East Hartford PET, FL-Fort Lauderdale PET, OH-Columbus PET-OSU, LA-New Orleans-Ochsner-PET, MI-East Lansing MSU PET, NV-Las Vegas PET 2, OH-West Chester PET, PA-Sharon Hill Phil PET.
