Seamstress-Wardrobe- Full Time (Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino)

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Seamstress provides the service of mending, sewing, and altering employee uniforms as requested.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Processes new employee uniforms by measuring employees and altering garments to fit.
2. Provides all sewing, altering and mending for employee uniforms as needed.
3. Provides mending service for our guests on request and minor alterations from retail shop.
4. Operates and maintains sewing equipment.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES:

• Follows proper procedures and maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
• Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
• Other duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 

• Must have knowledge of sewing equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to observe safety guidelines and energy conservation guidelines.   Must have proven customer service skills and be able to keep records in English and maintain mathematics records. 

• Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. 

• Must present a well-groomed appearance

• Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business

• Communicate in a positive and friendly manner.
• Must have previous experience sewing, altering and mending.
• Must have minimal computer skills.

1. Must be able to maneuver throughout wardrobe area. 
2. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and carry up to five pounds. 
3. Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at an assigned area.
4. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. 
5. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 
6. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. 
7. Must be willing to accept any and all job assignments from the supervisor or department head.
