Job Description: Work on Edge AI products on a team focused on Systems Hardware Engineering that designs, builds, brings-up, and productizes PCB boards and platforms. The boards, platforms showcase Machine Learning SoC, and are used for bring-up, debug, characterization, customer samples, customer reference and production. This role entails cross-functional collaboration with experienced engineers, working for internal bring-up, debug, validation needs as well as internal customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop analog and digital circuit schematics using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD).
- Lead or support PCB layout and design reviews to ensure design correctness, signal integrity, power integrity, compliance, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and external ODM / Fab houses to define hardware requirements and system architecture.
- Prototype, validate, and debug hardware systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment.
- Perform design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) analysis.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to bring designs to production.
- Maintain detailed documentation including BOMs, schematics, test plans, and design reports.
Required Background:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 15 + years work experience in PCB board or Systems Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in High Performance Compute (HPC) debugging, validation and performance testing that includes applicable leading-edge interfaces; LPDDR5, PCIe Gen5, 10GB Ethernet, SerDes, MIPI.
- Experience in the use of high-end lab equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, etc.
- Knowledge of High-speed I/Os such as LPDDR, PCIe and Ethernet (ideally at least two of these).
Preferred skills:
- Familiar with the electronic test lab environment (include different equipment), especially the PCB board bring up process, strong analysis ability in the board debugging.
- Familiar the debug interfaces for embedded system, debug the I2C/SPI, MDIO bus by Beagle, Aardvak adapter, UART and JTAG by USB-FTDI adapter, in windows and Linux Debian.
- Familiar with equipment such as High Speed Oscilloscopes for the bring up and debug tests,like how to measure the clock, noise, capture the Enable/PG/Reset/ power sequence signals, and bus interface signals (I2c, SD,SPI...).
- Familiar Python, utilize the Python scripts to boot up the system.
- Knowledge of networking protocol analyzers such as PCIe is a big plus.
- Knowledge of ASIC characterization is a plus.
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing, assembly, and test is a plus.
- Knowledge of Quality, and Reliability of PCB products is a plus.
