About the role

Job Description Summary

Student Life serves as the hub for students at Santa Fe College and is comprised of student activities, student clubs and organizations, civic engagement and service, student government, leadership programs, the Student Engagement Center, international student support and advising, Saints Food Share, the Student Life Business Office, and Student Life marketing. Student Life also provides student-centered services such as access to a recreation room, computer lab, art gallery, ID card services, and holds evening hours.

Under direct supervision, the Student Life Educational Aide assists with the front desk services including Student ID Card issuance, customer service, and Rec Room support.

 

Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

  • Provides a professional, helpful, and welcoming atmosphere by greeting, responding to, and directing visitors.

  • Accepts, screens, and routes telephone calls concerning activities and operations of the office, directing inquiries as appropriate and/or providing information.

  • Assists in the issuance of ID cards.

  • Receives and processes departmental paperwork.

  • Monitors Discord server, Recreation Room and Esports Lab access.

  • Check-in/out Recreation Room equipment.

  • Delivers items on campus as needed.

  • Provides coverage during weekly staff meetings.

  • Assists with projects as required (i.e. prepare marketing materials for distribution and/or removal; create spreadsheets, event set-up, etc.).

  • Assists other staff as requested.

  • Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.

  • Strictly honors the privacy, security, and confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal, and college regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Reports to: Student Life Support Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student, in good academic standing, taking six (6) or more credit hours.

Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted. Must maintain a 2.5 GPA.

  • Multi-task - Ability to expeditiously organize, coordinate, manage, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously to swiftly assess a situation, determine a logical course of action, and apply the appropriate response.
