Controls Engineer (Tridium Niagara) Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with advanced expertise in Tridium Niagara technologies to play a pivotal role in delivering high-performance Building Automation and Enterprise Security solutions. This hands-on technical position involves leading the implementation, commissioning, integration, and ongoing support of intelligent building systems, ensuring seamless performance, reliability, and client satisfaction.
This is a service-focused engineering role, designed for professionals who thrive on solving complex problems and delivering mission-critical infrastructure for smart, secure, and energy-efficient environments.
The ideal candidate is technically proficient in the Niagara Framework (including Niagara 4 and Niagara AX), experienced with building systems integration, and committed to delivering outstanding service and commissioning support.
Controls Engineer (Tridium Niagara) Responsibilities:
Implementation & Commissioning: · Lead the installation, configuration, programming, and commissioning of building automation systems using the Tridium · Niagara Framework. · Integrate third-party protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, KNX) to create comprehensive, interoperable systems. · Manage and execute onsite system commissioning, functional testing, and system validation. · Troubleshoot system issues during and after commissioning, ensuring optimal system performance.
Technical Support: · Provide technical assistance to field technicians, project managers, and customers throughout project execution. · Deliver post-installation support, including system tuning, updates, and customer training. · Assist in system upgrades and expansions for existing BAS and Enterprise Security platforms.
Documentation & Collaboration: · Develop and maintain project documentation, including network diagrams, system architecture layouts, sequences of operations, and as-built drawings. · Collaborate closely with internal teams (engineering, service, and project management) to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction. · Participate in project kick-offs, commissioning calls, and close-out meetings to maintain quality and accountability.
Practice Development: · Assist in the refinement and growth of our Building Automation and Enterprise Security service offerings. · Stay current with emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices related to building automation and integrated systems.
Controls Engineer (Tridium Niagara) Qualifications:
· 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing and commissioning BAS solutions using Tridium Niagara (Niagara 4 and AX). · Strong proficiency in Niagara 4 and Niagara AX platforms (certification preferred). · Familiarity with HVAC systems, lighting controls, energy management systems, and enterprise security solutions. · Solid understanding of IP networking fundamentals related to BAS deployments. · Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. · Excellent documentation abilities, including wiring diagrams, network schematics, and sequence of operations. · Effective communicator and team collaborator.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Niagara 4 Technical Certification (TCP) required.· Experience with Honeywell WEBs, Distech, Vykon, or other Niagara-based products.· Familiarity with smart building technologies and IoT devices.· Niagara 4 Enterprise Security Technical Certification Program is a plus.
Work Environment:
Combination of office, field, and client site work across commercial and industrial environments. Regional travel required to support system deployment, commissioning, and service support needs.
