Position overview:
To support the firm’s continued growth in North America, Sagard is currently seeking to hire an experienced consultant relations professional to design a strategic plan and execute on said plan for global, major market US, and regional/boutique consultants representing the full investment capabilities of our platform. The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with and report to the Head of North American Capital Formation. Knowledge of the alternatives industry, excellent sales, marketing, project management, and organizational skills are required, together with demonstrated success in achieving and commercializing ratings across multiple alternatives products with consulting organizations across the AUA spectrum.
Your Responsibilities:
Consultant Relationship Development:
- Developing strong relationships and building commercial momentum with key consultant stakeholders (Research, Field, OCIO, and Senior Management)
- Articulating Sagard’s overall investment philosophy, bringing new funds and investment opportunities, and representing the entire platform to the consulting community
- Sequencing these capabilities in a commercially realistic and effective manner is critical
- Winning new fund approvals/ratings and building the probability of commercial success within consulting firms through strong research and field consultant relationship development
- Triangulating on strategy and communicating effectively with capital formation, investment specialists, investment leaders, and all commercial stakeholders
- Leveraging Senior Leadership to gain access to the highest levels of leadership at assigned consultant firms
- Coordinate support across capital formation and investor relations teams globally
- Provide leadership and investment teams with key insights on investor trends, news, and market dynamics to inform the firm's overall strategy.

Experience & Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree is required and an advanced degree such as MBA or holding the CFA designation is valued
- A minimum of 10 years of professional work experience
- At least five years (most recently) of directly relevant and successful consultant relations, fundraising/investor relations experience, either with an asset manager or consulting firm
- Direct experience with illiquid private markets investment strategies is required
- Coordinating with internal counterparts to discuss and set strategy, target consultant relationships and investment product priorities
- Experience working with institutional investors and understanding investor objectives and rating/buying criteria within disparate consulting firms
