Our rapidly expanding new Chubb Engineering Center in Greece (CECG) is integrated with the Engineering Centers in India and Mexico to support our global technology needs and digital business transformation, as well as the company's operations in the Europe - Middle East - Africa region operating in 27 countries.</p><p><span>We are looking for an accomplished Senior Data Engineer to architect and oversee the data foundation of a major strategic application platform. This role plays a critical part in shaping and maintaining a scalable, secure, and business-aligned data architecture—particularly within an application-centric environment, where data flows are tightly integrated with specific systems and business processes.</span></p><p><span>You will collaborate closely with Senior and Lead Engineers across Integration, Front-End, and Platform teams to ensure that data models and interfaces are robust, interoperable, and aligned with enterprise goals. A deep understanding of application-centric data architecture is essential to navigate legacy constraints while driving modernization and integration efforts.</span></p><p><span>Key Accountabilities &amp; Responsibilities</span></p><ul><li><p><span lang="EN-AU"><strong>Design Scalable Data Architectures</strong>: Create robust data models and architectures for complex applications.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU"><strong>Data Integration:</strong> Develop strategies for integrating data across systems, including APIs, ETL pipelines, and middleware.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU"><strong>Governance &amp; Compliance:</strong> Implement data governance policies and ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR, HIPAA).</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU"><strong>Collaboration</strong>: Work closely with application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into data solutions.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU"><strong>Performance Optimization:</strong> Monitor and tune data flows, queries, and storage for optimal performance.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU"><strong>Documentation</strong>: Maintain detailed documentation of data models, flows, and architecture decisions.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU"><strong>Mentorship</strong>: Guide engineers and developers, promoting best practices in data design and management.</span></p></li></ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Bachelor’s degree or higher education level, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer, or Information Technology discipline, or a related engineering/computer field </span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Practical experience using GenAI (Claude/CoPilot/Gemini) with a good understanding of subagents, MCP and controls; used to support the design, development, testing.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Experience: 7+ years in data architecture/engineering, with a focus on application-level data design.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Technical Proficiency: SQL and NoSQL databases</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Data modelling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, PowerDesigner)</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">ETL tools and data pipelines</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">API design and integration</span></p></li></ul><p><strong>Desirable</strong></p><ul><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Strong communication skills, written and verbal.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Strong presentation skills.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Change Management experience is a plus.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Systems and business architecture knowledge is a plus.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Ability to take minimal direction and work independently with high precision/quality of output.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Degree qualified in business management or a related discipline and qualification in technology.</span></p></li><li><p><span lang="EN-AU">Experience working with tea
