As a key contributor to the materials planning and operations team, this role is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials and assemblies through all stages of manufacturing. By evaluating and enhancing process flows, monitoring material availability, and identifying potential production risks, the individual in this position will play a critical role in minimizing work stoppages and ensuring timely delivery. This position requires close collaboration across departments—including quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering—to drive continuous improvement initiatives, support complex bill of material analyses, and lead proactive efforts to resolve material shortages and recovery plans.

What You Will Do

  • Support production planning needs
  • Evaluate and improve process flows regarding the assemblies that are in progress, material availability, and potential production problems. Propose solutions to mitigate any work stoppage the factory teams may experience due to any slips in material orders.
  • Controls on hand material through its life cycle; issue to work orders or projects, returns to suppliers, ships to customers, etc.
  • Support analysis of multiple and moderate complexity, Bills of Material in an MRP system; releasing work
  • Leads projects and teams to accomplish continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering.
  • Performs escalated expediting when required to ensure on time delivery of material.
  • Mitigates risks for short-term shortages with internal suppliers to ensure successful customer delivery.     
  • Support and communicate recovery efforts
  • Collaborate to ensure customer needs are met   

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
