Essential Function 1
Under the direct supervision of the RPM Supervisor performs residential and post-residential case management, mentor/mentee training, mentee residential counseling, and guidance in placement development. Maintains a residential and two post-residential caseload utilizing established organizational methods to accurately manage Cadet case files.
Essential Function 2
Coordinate with parents, mentors, school officials, social services, and prospective employers to facilitate post-residential success. During the Post Residential Phase assist cadets with the completion of necessary forms, financial aid, recommendations, etc. Develop and document individual cadet’s progress and placement plan, to include applications to institutions of higher learning, job placement and military enlistment.
Essential Function 3
Administer standardized tests to meet specific core component as established by the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program. Provides extensive automated file management utilizing a Cadet Tracking System to update and maintain cadet data for tracking by the National Guard Bureau. Participate in further professional development through workshops and other training opportunities as needed or required.
Essential Function 4
Advise and execute vocational educational training opportunities with cadets during the residential phase.
Essential Function 5
Teach NGB “Job Skills Training” tasks. Networking to include execution of the Career Fair. Performs mentee training for cadets during the residential phase and aids with any specific challenges’ cadets may encounter upon graduation. Teaches Post Residential training class.
Essential Function 6
Tracks mentor/mentee relationships to ensure progress throughout the resident and post-resident phase. Provides referrals and assistance for mentors and cadets from public and private educational/vocational institutions, employers, housing needs to assist in the development of the mentoring relationship.
Essential Function 7
Attends weekly meeting (QUAD) with Instructors and Cadre to access cadets’ progress in the program. Assists cadets in the preparation plans for the Post-Residential phase through the use of the Life Plan (Post-Residential Action Plan).
Essential Function 8
Processes mentor applications, calls references for mentors, submits information to HR for background and CANTS files, records result into tracker, prepares ETP, conducts mentor interviews and schedules mentor training.
Essential Function 9
Performs other duties as required or assigned reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above to include flex work schedule when necessary to meet agency needs.
