Control RisksAbout the role
We seek a highly motivated, detail oriented, business-minded consultant with creativity, initiative, teamwork, commercial and project management skills to help drive our crisis management and security consulting business. The Principal will have a dual role as 1) a fee-earning consultant delivering end-to-end projects for clients across the US/Latin American market as required with a special focus on security management consulting solutions as well as executive protection project oversight and 2) a proactive business development resource across the crisis management and security consulting space both in the local market, across our US client base with a specific focus on supporting our south-bound sales strategy in markets with a heavy concentration of clients interested in Latin America.
Client Delivery
- Assist clients in solving complex security risk problems and crafting flexible and sustainable organizational approaches.
- Act as a senior project manager for Control Risks’ security consulting projects (assessing, designing, implementing and improving corporate and global security and risk management programs, capabilities and practices), including being the primary contact to the client and managing a delivery team.
- Provide clients with expert support and insights on security strategy, organizational structures, physical security, travel security, event security, executive protection programs, security training and awareness, security metrics and reporting as well as security incident management.
- Work with client Executive Leadership teams to ensure that business priorities are represented in our security solutions.
- Collaboratively scope complex and multidimensional security projects with our clients bringing in diverse Control Risks teams as appropriate.
- Lead and service multiple assignments as full case manager responsible for entire project cycle in protective services on as needed basis.
- Manage engagement resourcing, budgets and invoicing.
- Proactively identify prospects and generate new business opportunities for Control Risks. This includes the development of new Latin American business primarily focused on corporates based throughout the US/Canada.
- Work closely with account managers, Country Heads and Geomarket Leaders in a consultative sales capacity to join existing client conversations as a subject matter expert and close new opportunities
- Establish relationships with new security consulting clients and grow relationships with existing clients
- Author thought leadership on relevant topics building Control Risks and personal brands.
Business Development

Requirements
Essential
- 10+ years of work experience in a global security organization or consulting firm.
- Demonstrated experience in security program development and optimization.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of policies, standards and procedures.
- Proven experience in assessing and implementing physical, electronic, and technical security measures.
- Experience with operational security including protective operations
- Experience in managing critical security incidents
- Experience in providing security training both in-classroom and practical
- Knowledge of best-practices in security strategy, organizational structures, physical security, travel security, event security, executive protection programs, security training and awareness, security metrics and reporting as well as security incident management.
- Knowledge of data-driven approaches to security program optimization
- Be strongly conversant in Latin American affairs; able to articulate the impact of events in Latin America on security, political and integrity risks in a compelling way
- Business-level proficiency in Spanish language
- Experience in multiple industries and client operating environments
