Associate Engineering Project Manager

As an Associate Project Manager, you will execute engineering and construction projects within our Kansas City plant. Your responsibilities will encompass planning, execution, monitoring, control, and project closure. You will plan and lead requirements, design, and project reviews, often involving 10-25 operational team members with varying objectives. Your ability to influence and organize people will be what it takes to get the job done.

 

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

 

• Lead and Plan – you’ll be leading and executing our capital projects, capital expense planning, plant expense projects, forecasting, and tracking processes for the facility related to Cost, Schedule, Performance, People Safety and Food Safety targets. 
• Building Teams - Interact with design engineering and drawing management personnel as well as managing construction contractors,  to improve overall capital execution performance and processes.
• Internal and External Partners – you’ll leverage your people skills as you meet with internal and external customers including our Supply Chain and Engineering leadership, Process, and Packaging teams. External teams include Engineering and Construction Management Service Providers, Consulting Firms, Equipment Vendors, and Co-manufacturers – we hope you like collaboration! 
• Financial Responsibility— Understand and apply Kellanova financial policies related to capital classification, asset set-up, capital guidelines, ect. 

 

We’re Looking for Someone With

 

• A high school/GED with relevant technical experience
• Strong Technical Aptitude both mechanical and electrical.
• Capable of reading drawings, working with AutoCAD
• Experience with direct supervision of contractors and construction activities
• Experience defining and leading project execution under multiple contracting strategies 
• Proficient in Microsoft applications and other project management software applications
• Demonstrated strong project fundamentals and work processes (cost/schedule tracking, change management, risk identification, options analysis, etc.).
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
