WashU School of Law seeks applications for the position of Staff Attorney Fellow for its Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, one of nineteen law clinic and externship courses offered by the Law School.This is a one-year term with potential renewal depending on funding status.

Under the direction of the Clinic’s Director and/or the Clinic’s Supervising Attorney, the Staff Attorney Fellow will be expected to:
- Provide free legal assistance to low income taxpayers on income tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service.
- Assume primary responsibility for cases by engaging in substantial legal work, including intake/case evaluation, client interviewing and counseling, fact investigation, drafting pleadings and other legal filings, participating in discovery, and making court appearances.
- Perform community outreach activities in the local area.
- Other duties as assigned by Clinic Director.
Salary Range:
Base pay is commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications:
- J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admitted or eligible to practice law in Missouri (i.e., must be a member of the Missouri bar or eligible for admission on motion or as a law teacher without examination pursuant to Missouri Supreme Court Rules 8.10 and 13.06) or be sitting for the Missouri Bar in 2023.
- Admitted or eligible for admission to the U.S. Tax Court.
- Outstanding legal research and writing skills.
