RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hormel Foods Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Data Management Analyst responsible for our Data Governance Platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Enterprise Data Governance platforms which include the capabilities of data quality, workflow, data & product marketplace, data catalog, glossary, and lineage. The Data Governance Platform Is foundational to our Data Quality Framework and is critical for elevating data as a strategic asset. The platform enables transparent ownership and collective understanding of data and issues across the organization.
- Ownership - Enterprise Data Governance Platform
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing evolution of the Enterprise Data Governance platform.
- Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality and compliance.
- Provide training and support to users of the data governance platform.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in data governance.
- Implement data quality standards, procedures, and validation & cleansing rules.
- Develop and implement data quality metrics / KPIs and automated monitoring processes.
- Leverage data management tools to profile and analyze data at aggregate as well as granular levels to derive insights and actions.
- Data Governance and Strategy
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their data requirements and contribute to the development of data governance policies.
- Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Project and Change Management
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of metadata and technical lineage into the data governance platform.
- Coordinate activities among project teams and data governance working groups for process enhancements and data quality.
- Strategic Leadership in Data Quality
- Recommend and lead process and data improvement activities among many stakeholders across business areas and IT teams.
- Communicate data quality strategies, policies, and initiatives to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- A bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of experience in data quality, data management, data governance, or related discipline.
- Experience with enterprise data quality and data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Atlan, Alation, GCP Dataplex).
- Proven experience working with technical and functional team members.
- In-depth experience with data quality in a corporate environment.
- Excellent data profiling & analysis skills.
- Clear and organized writer, communicator, and presenter to varying levels of an organization.
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Tested problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
