About the role

Job Summary

Under moderate supervision, provides support for month-end closing requirements including fixed assets, intercompany, journal entries, financial reporting and closing requirements.  Acts as a liaison between multiple departments to resolve issues or answer inquiries. 

Responsibilities

  • Performs senior accounting functions including monthly account reconciliations, monitoring certain monthly accruals and preparing journal entries in order to ensure proper reporting financials.
  • Maintains and analyzes fixed asset ledger in order to ensure purchases are classified properly and fall within budget.
  • Lead the annual fixed asset count accordingly.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions for Fixed Assets.
  • Ensures internal controls are operating correctly with the goal of zero deficiencies through JSOX auditing.
  • Performs financial analysis and assists in financial reporting activities in order to ensure proper recording of transactions.
  • Investigates and analyzes accounting and financial related data in order to reconcile and audit information.
  • Performs more complex intercompany account reconciliation.
  • Assists with process improvement activities including maintaining and implementing internal controls.
  • Acts as a liaison between internal departments and other DENSO locations in order to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Assist on internal and external audit.
  • Performs monthly financial reporting as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 2-5 years of relevant Accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarily factual information to internal and external customers in the normal course of performing duties.
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible.
  • Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to customer issues.
  • Intermediate understanding of accounting principles.
  • Fixed Asset Software (e.g. Sage, Oracle, SAP, etc.).
  • Cross functional team member.
  • Process improvement mindset.
  • Intermediate system knowledge in Accounting.
  • Ability to take ownership of financial statements.
  • Advanced skills in Excel (e.g. Vlookups, sumifs, pivot table, etc.).

Salary $63,000-$80,000.
