The Opportunity

This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Diabetes Care Division. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As the Senior Manager, Strategic Planning you will support the Head of Strategy and Business Development in driving divisional strategic planning. The Strategic Planning team assists senior leadership in making decisions on innovation portfolio and pipeline to maintain competitive differentiation and achieve growth goals.

This person will conduct fact-based analyses that synthesize industry trends, identify and assess strategic options, and quantify opportunities. He/she will support the Strategic Planning Director in all aspects of ADC strategic planning, including creating material to guide key executive workshops and meetings and collaborating across the organization.

What You’ll Work On

  • Conduct deep analyses to evaluate opportunities for ADC
  • Research category and adjacent industry trends; conduct secondary research as well as primary, interview-based research as needed
  • Collaborate with Competitive Intelligence, Analytics, Market Research, and other ADC teams to aggregate and synthesize information
  • Analyze strategic opportunities, including development of high-level quantitative business models
  • Lead and program manage cross-functional working teams / efforts to gather input and drive analyses
  • Synthesize analyses in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Support innovation strategic planning sessions and other key executive meetings
  • Drive major portions of materials for the biannual senior executive innovation workshops, as well as materials for other key strategic planning meetings
  • Shape and structure top strategic questions the organization must answer to maintain competitive differentiation
  • Project manage activities and deadlines leading up to key meetings, and track and manage action items coming out of meetings
  • Collaborate with individuals and teams across the business to collect data/analysis, flesh out ideas, and synthesize perspectives
  • Advance integrated strategic planning process
  • Help design and implement expanded, more integrated strategic planning process across ADC

Experience You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 8 years related business experience or MBA with 6 years related experience.
  • 5 years related business experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, and strong fact-based strategic problem solving
  • Excellent logical comm
