Lean Manufacturing Engineer
Lasko Products, an industry leader in designing and manufacturing portable fans and heaters for over 100 years, is hiring for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer for our Fort Worth, TX manufacturing facility.
The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards, implementing improvements to production processes, methods and controls. The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will also be responsible for manufacturing launch for new or revised fan products/components.
This role will report to the Engineering Manager or designate.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of processes and related equipment.
- Implementation of 5S on production lines and processes.
- Engage the workforce to achieve successful implementation of Kaizen events including the pursuit of continuous improvement by eliminating waste and increasing cycle times.
- Manage and lead metrics development to demonstrate cost reductions.
- Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
- Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Confer with sales, planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods and quality results.
- Design, develop and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of machinery and equipment according to specifications and quality standards.
- Apply statistical methods and perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
- Represent manufacturing/engineering on cross-functional teams.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
- B.S. degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Minimum 5 years related experience required.
- Experience leading manufacturing operations in a Lean environment
