Skills requirements

• Ability to write English in a clear and concise manner.
• Basic Technical Writing experience.
• Basic MS Office and Adobe Acrobat skills.
• Basic knowledge of the AP style Guide.
• Basic knowledge of XML authoring  (Can Train)
• Basic knowledge of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)  (Can Train)
• Knowledge of Madcap Flare (nice but not required) (Technical Authoring Software) (Can Train).

Job Specific Requirements

• Ability to break a complex process into steps or tasks and write the necessary tasks concisely.
• Ability to read a complex technical document and to pull the relevant information from it to include in a manual.
• Able to work with the illustrator to describe required images to be created.
• Ability to perform Quality and Style checks for other technical writers.
• Basic ability to understand electrical schematics and technical documentation.
