Job Description
AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Environmental Engineer IV to oversee environmental remediation projects. The candidate will work from the Fort Lauderdale, FL office. This position will support the Environmental business line, primarily working on Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Petroleum Restoration Program projects.
Our business line executes large and complex engineering projects and provide a comprehensive range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services.

The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management
- Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects
- Leads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices
- Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
- Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking
- Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager
- Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
- Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
- Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work
- Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in Environmental Engineering or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
- Occasional overnight travel required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering license (P.E.)
- 7+ years of experience in environmental remediation (soil and water) project management
- Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations
- Experience successfully managing environmental projects under FDEP’s Petroleum Restoration Program
- Thorough working knowledge of Chapter 62-780, Florida Administrative Code
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
- Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery
- Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
- Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders
- Interest in business development
