Vice President - Project Executive

Overview
Reporting directly to the Group President, the Vice President - Project Executive is deployed as an expert in developing and executing large, complex projects with budgets nearing or exceeding $200MM (aka “megaprojects”). You will will provide executive-level business judgment and leadership, and accepts responsibility for all aspects of project performance (e.g. safety, schedule, financial, and quality) and client satisfaction. You will advise executive leadership on company strategy, innovation, and ongoing approach to advancing repeatable, successful delivery of Haskell “megaprojects”.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drives the successful delivery of megaprojects, or other special projects as assigned, as a leader to both our client and to our project team(s).
- Oversees multiple teams and disciplines, including consultants, designers, project managers, construction managers, and project directors, driving their collaboration, communication, and engagement to ensure a productive and effective team dynamic.
- Advises both the client and the Project Director to steer project approach, planning, key decisions, risks and opportunities.
- Develops and communicates best practices and processes for megaprojects to ensure operational excellence across all aspects of project execution.
- Establishes broad, overall strategy for the design and construction of the project, in collaboration with the Project Director, Division Leader, and Group President.
- Plays a primary role in negotiating the owner agreement and in establishing the downstream contracting strategy with contract partners (i.e. subcontractors and suppliers).
- Reviews and approves the project staffing plan, and recommends assignment of key individuals for megaprojects. Conducts evaluations of project team member performance, as requested.
- Provides, in conjunction with the Project Director, reporting of key performance metrics on projects including safety, quality, financials, schedule, and client satisfaction.
- Engages in the full project life-cycle, from prospect identification through pursuit, proposal, contracting with owner, design, project execution, turnover and completion.
- Oversees preparation of, and approves, all project schedules including design schedule, master schedule, construction progress schedule, and periodic schedule revisions. Makes key decisions affecting schedule and consults with client on schedule decisions and impacts, as appropriate.
- Reviews and approves detailed cost estimates with the Project Director for proposal pricing and major change orders.
- Effectively identifies, communicates, manages, and mitigates risk during all stages of the project.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
- Graduate-level degree in any of the prior listed disciplines, in business administration, or in law is preferred.
- 15 to 20 years of project management (PM) experience with 5 to 10 years of Project Executive experience of overseeing multiple projects greater than $200MM.
- Industry certifications/accreditations such as PE, GC, PMP, LEED, or similar are expected.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing clients and teams on megaprojects.
- Excellent organizational, supervisory, communication, collaboration and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to lead large cross-functional teams.
- Advanced knowledge of estimating, construction methods, engineering, equipment and technology.
- Excellent understanding and embracing of safety requirements and procedures.
- Proficient in risk management including contract negotiations with clients and contract partners.
- Ability to travel per project requirements.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms
