Description

Rinker Design Associates, LLC (RDA) has excellent advancement opportunities for mid to senior-level civil engineering professionals. This position will provide leadership opportunities for the development of highway designs, intersection improvements, interchange improvements, and pedestrian facility improvements, including the development of technical reports, project schedules, budgets, and construction cost estimating. Typical projects range from large design/build transportation projects to traditional projects for local government, state, and private sectors.

Locations: Manassas, Fredericksburg, and Waynesboro

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions and oversee the development of the highway design for the team.
• Leads project team in meetings and presents specific aspects of highway design.
• Provides design support on multiple projects of moderate size and leads designs on smaller projects.
• Maintains high standards of work product and provides quality control for peers. 
• Interacts with clients, customers, agency representatives, and contractors.
• Assists the project manager with schedule and budget requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Registration as a P.E. in the State of Virginia is desirable.
• At least 5 years of experience in highway engineering design.
• Understanding VDOT and local policies and procedures is desirable.
• Strong technical design background in highway design and familiar with VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and MUTCD standards.
• Must demonstrate teamwork and possess written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of and prior experience in using CADD/Design Software (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D) is desirable.
