Calumet Renewables, LLC contains several renewable natural gas facilities in Manitowoc and Kewaunee Counties in WI. The plants produce RNG by puling dairy digester gas, cleaning the gas by removing H2S, Oxygen, CO2 and water and compress the gas to inject into the pipeline. Maintenance of equipment includes screw and reciprocating compressors, membrane cleaning system, natural gas dryer, flare, thermal oxidizers, chromatographs and flow meters.
Job Summary
Location: Various, United States
To lead and supervise the operations group at assigned sites to deliver operational and financial results in accordance with commitments made in the budgeting process. To effectively merge routine operations with asset management responsibilities thereby optimizing financial results while meeting safety, environmental and company growth objectives.
Duties include proactive leadership and development of team to reinforce DTE’s Service Keys: Safe, Caring, Dependable, and Efficient while also leading continuous improvement and maintenance, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and developing employee culture conducive to a healthy work/life balance.
Key Accountabilities
• Ability to independently operate the facility, perform maintenance activities and trouble shooting
• Develop and update as applicable, all training materials, standard work instructions (SWIs) and operating procedures in coordination with leadership, OEMs and Engineering and train additional technicians for independent operation
• Participates in and directs day-to-day operation and maintenance activities
• Review and approve time and manage team member performance cycles in compliance with DTE Biomass Policies
• Primary liaison with the customer or host site on matters pertaining to daily operations including the scheduling of production levels
• Ensures the facility is operated in a safe and environmentally responsible manner in compliance with the core values of DTE Energy and all local, state, and federal regulations
• Supports the annual O&M budget development with the Plant Manager, including production forecasting in coordination with DTE Biomass leadership.
• Controls expenditures to ensure costs remain within budget
• Schedules and coordinates major maintenance and contractor activity to coincide with the production requirements of the customer
• Prepares periodic status reports that describe operating performance, issues, and forecasts of future performance
• Implements a planned maintenance program consisting of predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities documenting such activities using work orders in the designated CMMS
• Conducts or arranges for periodic training for all plant personnel covering technical, safety, environmental and supervisory topics as appropriate
• Ensures that all employees and contractors abide by established policies and procedures pertaining to plant safety and environmental stewardship
• Works with Plant Manager, Regional Operations Manager and Director of Operations to share and implement best practices throughout the organization
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent and knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through at least 3-5 years progressive experience in a gas processing facility, power generation, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment, or
• Associate degree or industry-recognized certificate, technical degree in a related discipline is preferred and knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through at least 1-2 years supervisor or managerial experience in a gas processing facility, power generation, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, or 2 years of military experience at an officer level, or
