Job Description

About the Process Engineer Role:

The Chemical Process Engineer is an integral part of the Engineering department at the San Diego Site. The Chemical Process Engineer is responsible for lifecycle of the various chemical cleaning and surface preparation processes including scope of work, estimating, detailed design, clean line support and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the testing & validation of chemicals and materials to ensure compliance is adhered to.
  • Active involvement in the specification and training and documentation of chemical processes in support of quality and first pass yield goals.
  • Work with other professionals to ensure processes and premises are safe and do not have a detrimental effect on the products and environment
  • Drive the improvement of safety conditions within the chemical processing department by actively participating in safety initiatives and improvements.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

If you have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years of experience in a fast paced, collaborative Chemical Process Engineer role, joining Chromalloy is a great career move.

In addition to your education & experience, as a team player you will also have the following skills:

  • Aerospace Focused Engineering degree (e.g., Manufacturing, Process, Structural, Power Plant, etc.)
  • Proven Successes utilizing lean manufacturing and/or six sigma
  • Formal training in coatings technology, engineering, or chemistry 
  • Proficiency in analytical abilities; aptitude for effective communication and collaboration within a team.

Position is located in San Diego, CA (local candidate desired).
