About the Role

Do you like performant systems? We help handle north of 100,000 tests producing billions of measurements a day across multiple operating systems and various hardware. The Cloud and Enterprise Agent team aims to provide a real-time network monitoring platform that measures, correlates, and visualizes synthetic data about global network conditions. This data allows our customers to gather performance metrics about network services and servers that they depend on and make informed decisions about how to take action should something go wrong.

You Can Expect To Work On

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer passionate about building and adding to one of the core products at ThousandEyes. We are a high-performance team and create reliable and performant systems to support them in production.

Your role will be to help build and refine some of our core network measurement technology. You will run several kinds of data we collect including path traces, pings, and capacity/available bandwidth measurements, to name a few.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-6+ years of experience and demonstrated ability in C++ development
• Proficient in package managers (apt, yum, dnf, apk)
• Practical experience with containers such as Docker
• Experience with dependency management such as Conan
• Confidence with Linux and upgrades
• Aware of CI/CD build pipelines such as Jenkins
• BS/MS with a quantitative focus (e.g. Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience
• Track record of learning quickly, taking ownership and responsibility

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, etc)
• Comfortable with back-end distributed systems
• Passionate with technologies C++11 - 14, boost a plus
• Experience updating dependencies on projects
• Knowledge of working with Terraform
• Participation in contributing to open-source development
