Summary
Manages a comprehensive fire protection program for the facilities including the elements of life safety for the protection of colleagues, patients, and visitors. Supports the network's fire/life safety, emergency preparedness, resiliency, and continuity of business operations programs. Ensures regulatory compliance for all fire/life safety systems by conducting routine audits of the life safety documents at each site. Facilitates routine inspections, plans review for construction projects, supports the Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) program implementation, coordinates emergency preparedness and crisis management activities, develops and delivers fire/life safety education, and reviews and creates policies, and implementing corrective action plans. Acts as a liaison to the local fire department(s) in ensuring collaborative efforts for mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery from fire-related events.

Job Duties

  • Coordinates and assists with the facilitation of educational programs, required fire drills, exercises, and deployments.
  • Provides operational support to the department and colleagues throughout all phases of emergency management including emergency responses.
  • Oversees Fire/Life Safety inspections, regulatory compliance, fire investigations, and incident documentation.
  • Provides administrative support and coordination for Fire Safety and Emergency Management activities and programs.
  • Assists Environmental Health and Safety Department and other Emergency Preparedness colleagues with the development of the fire/life safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with Facilities Management colleagues in plan review, interim life safety measures plan development, and fire/life safety compliance support for construction and renovation projects.
  • Makes recommendations to the department for improving operations and compliance.
  • Develops and executes meaningful tabletop drills and full-scale emergency exercises that involve community members and network colleagues.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 years Healthcare management, fire code enforcement, or emergency management/emergency services.
  • Knowledge of fire suppression/protection.
  • Knowledge of appropriate life safety and building codes.
  • Knowledge of incident command system and emergency management principles.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
  • Class C Driver's Licesnse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire and
  • NFPA-472 Hazardous Materials Technician - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year and
  • Fire Inspector I (NFPA, IFSAC, or ProBoard) - National Fire Protection Association within 1 Year


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Healthcare administration, fire science or administration, emergency services administration, engineering, political science, public administration/policy, healthcare-related science, or emergency management.
  • 5 years Healthcare management, fire code enforcement, or emergency management/emergency services and
  • 3 years Fire investigator
  • Record-keeping skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Visio products.
  • Knowledge of fire/life safety codes as they relate to business occupancies and healthcare occupancies.
  • Knowledge in emergency incident management, fire safety education, and healthcare emergency preparedness program development.
  • CHEP - Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional - International Board for Certification Services and Management
