About you and this role –
TES Process Automation Packaging & Specialty Plastics Business Focused Team is seeking an experienced Senior Process Automation Engineer, supporting our P&SP technologies globally. The location of this role is Seadrift (Texas).

We are looking for a Senior Process Automation Engineer with a passion for applying their expertise in leading small to large projects regionally and/or globally. As Senior Process Automation Engineer, you will serve as a technical resource and process automation lead for small to large capital and improvement projects regionally and/or globally. Directs and leads both Dow and contract resources. Is involved in all three phases of projects: front end loading, detailed design and construction, and commissioning and startup. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities. We are looking for someone who can apply process automation skills, knowledge, and experience for improvement and development work closely collaborating with other disciplines like R&D, project manufacturing representative, process automation team and the plant operation team.
Responsibilities –
- Designs the control strategy and control systems, as well as implementation, which is not typical within the industry.
- Establishes project goals and planning.
- Tracks progress, schedules, and costs for the PA team during all project phases.
- Completes technical review of the control teamwork and provide coaching / corrective feedback.
- Be a global project team member and design/deliver Process Automation strategies and control code by applying plant knowledge, work-process discipline knowledge.
- Ensure that your deliverables meet the needs of projects, including functioning as intended, on time and within budget.
- Develop, test and lead commissioning Process Automation software and operator interface software to meet design criteria utilizing the Process Automation Work Process Collaborate with engineering department process automation resources to design and execute projects.
- Identify, Develop, and implement Most Effective Technology (MET) standard solutions as well as best practices to meet business and project requirements.
- Serve as the regional technology focal point and provide timely technical reviews and input to MET improvement for global team.
- Participate regularly on multiple-function and multi-national teams. Utilize negotiating skills to resolve issues successfully to a win-win solution, and effectively resolve conflicts in area of responsibility.
- Drives strategic solutions in partnership with stakeholders.
- Supports training of operations and support commissioning and start-up of the asset.
- Must be willing to work on projects in different global geographies/locations.
Qualifications –
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical or software engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in process automation, engineering, manufacturing, or related experience.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% annually (both domestic and/or internationally).
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
