As a Security Officer - Retail Site - Weekends in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a welcoming environment at a major retail location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity, and providing outstanding customer service to guests and staff. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for operating a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. You will also be expected to communicate clearly and professionally, responding to situations as they arise and working collaboratively with your team. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
• Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns within the location.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits as required by site procedures.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal management regarding incidents or concerns.
• Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence and reporting any unusual behavior or activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A valid state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions only.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
