ABOUT: Training General Manager
The Restaurant Training Manager plays a critical role in supporting operational excellence and employee development across both Gold Star and Tom & Chee company-owned and franchised locations. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong General Manager (GM) background who is ready to step into a training-focused leadership role. As a Field Training Manager, you will provide coverage for GM vacations, act as the primary Field Trainer, take on a Franchise Business Consultant (FBC) account for development purposes, and support new store openings in a training capacity.


Working closely with the operations, this individual will drive business objectives by designing, delivering, and evaluating impactful training programs that uphold operational standards and enhance the culture at Gold Star and Tom & Chee locations.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:


General Manager Support and Field Training

  • Serve as an interim GM by covering vacations and supporting operations as needed.
  • Act as the primary Field Trainer, ensuring consistent and high-quality training across locations.
  • Learn the Franchise Business Consultant role by managing an FBC account to gain experience in franchise support.
  • Support new store openings and remodels by delivering hands-on training and ensuring compliance with brand standards.

Training Program Design and Delivery

  • Assess training needs across company-owned and franchised locations and create tailored solutions.
  • Develop and facilitate training content focused on operational and experiential standards for front-line team members.
  • Ensure training consistency in content, execution, and delivery across all locations.

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Work closely with store leadership, franchisees, and corporate teams to align training programs with brand goals.
  • Partner with various teams to integrate learning technology and enhance E-learning initiatives.

Analysis and Continuous Improvement

  • Use operational metrics (e.g., Mystery Shops, P&L reports, Calibration Scores, Social Media Scores) to assess training effectiveness.
  • Implement assessments and metrics to measure training success and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Make recommendations to improve training processes and content on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Proven GM experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment (restaurant or hospitality industry preferred).
  • 3+ years of designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.
  • 1+ years in a leadership role within a training or operations function.

Skills:

  • Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong mentoring, coaching, and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and knowledge of learning management systems.
  • Familiarity with adult learning theories, and multi-media content development tools is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Development, Organizational Development, Adult Education, or a related field is preferred not required.

Travel:

  • A significant field presence is required.
