WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Optometric Technician will need to work in a fast-paced medical optometric setting located within a Federally Qualified Health Center. The Optometric Technician will be responsible for direct patient care in the clinical and optical setting and be comfortable assisting patients of all ages including infants and geriatric patients of various non-English ethnic backgrounds. The Optometric Technician may also be called upon to perform a wide variety of front desk tasks such as registering new patients, scheduling appointments, handling insurance forms, accepting payments, screening telephone calls, and verifying insurance for patients as needed.

Compensation Disclosure: $25.00 - $30.00
The compensation range listed reflects Elica’s good-faith estimate of the anticipated hiring range for this position in accordance with California pay transparency requirements. Final compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, and qualification.
Requirements
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The successful candidate will be willing and able to:
- Perform preliminary and ancillary testing on patients prior to seeing the optometrist (including, but not limited to, auto-refraction, automated visual field screenings and visual acuity) and dilation;
- Perform other testing and duties as needed by the optometrist, such as referrals;
- Clean exam rooms and lab between patient visits according to protocol;
- Assist with maintenance and inventory of equipment, supplies, and restock exam rooms;
- Assist with a variety of duties within the vision clinic including but not limited to patient intake and outtake, screening patients, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance, as needed;
- Maintain accurate records of patient care, condition, progress, concerns and medical history;
- Maintain infection control standards;
- Assist with assessments required for visits, audits, and other regulatory guidelines;
- Review prescriptions and/or patient information carefully and identify special needs. Consult with the Optometrist when necessary;
