JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University, college of Libraries is seeking to hire part-time libraries support.

Responsibilities: 

  • Greet patrons with a welcoming smile 
  • Make referrals to other library services as appropriate 
  • Answer basic directional questions 

Operational: 

  • Shelve returned library materials  
  • Pull requested library items  
  • Attend on-going reference and library trainings for professional development  
  • Promote and engage with Common Services Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility initiatives and learning  
  • Circulate library materials   

Required Skills: 

  •   Ability to follow directions 
  •   Ability to keep a schedule 
  •   Excellent communication skills 

Hours: 

  •   Availability Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm. Minimum of ten hours per week with the opportunity to work up to twenty-four hours a week. 
  •   Hours may vary during holidays and summers. 
  • Hourly wage it $12.00/ hour.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review
