Duties and Role:
Under the direction of Section Head (Informal Messaging and Collaboration Services), the incumbent will perform duties such as the following:
- Responsible for Informal Messaging and Collaboration Services (MS Exchange, MS Skype for Business, MS Teams)
- Maintains, manages MS Exchange Server environments
- Maintains, manages MS Skype for Business Server environments
- Performs administration of MS Teams
- Performs implementation and maintenance of authorized software changes, related to MS Exchange, Skype for Business and/or MS Teams and the integration/tailoring of vendor supplied components, following established procedures for quality, configuration control, testing, documentation and security;
- Provides support to client applications like Outlook and Skype for Business client.
- Stays abreast of technological developments relevant to the area of work; as well as staying aware of the technologies that can be integrated or used together to create added value for the customer.
- Duties elsewhere within the organisation at the same grade without there being any change to the contract;
Requirements
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- A Master of Science (MSc) degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in Computer Science and 2 years post-related experience;
- Or a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree at a nationally recognised/certified University and 4 years post related experience;
- Or exceptionally, the lack of a university/college degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency; that is, at least 5 years extensive and progressive expertise in the duties related to the function of this post with the corresponding duties of this grade;
- Sound practical experience in the management, support, testing and maintenance of Microsoft, Teams, Microsoft Exchange Server's and Microsoft Skype for Business Server's related client applications;
- Knowledge and experience related to operation, maintenance, support, and administration of Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Skype for Business Server;
- Experience in PowerShell Scripting mostly concentrated on MS Exchange Server, MS Skype for Business Server and MS Windows Server.
- Experience in monitoring and reporting Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Skype for Business server service availability and performance (SCCM, SCOM based).
- Knowledge in tools used to secure the mail flow on Microsoft Exchange Server including antivirus solutions, IDS/IPS solutions, and related software/hardware.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI Layer 7 protocols like SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, SIP, STUN, LDAP and RPC.
- Knowledge of ITIL v3/v2011 Incident Management, Service Request Fulfilment processes and Continual Service Improvement stage.
Desirable Experience and Education:
- Advanced/Graduate degree in a field related to the function of the post;
- Microsoft Windows Server certifications (MCSA, MCSE, MCP);
- Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements;
Language Proficiency:
- A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of the other is desirable. NOTE: Most of the work of the NCIA is conducted in the English language.
