Inside the Role

As a global commercial vehicle OEM, we are in a multi-year transition from distributed, ECU-centric electrical architectures to software-defined vehicles (SDV) and software-oriented vehicle diagnostics (SOVD). We are seeking a Global Director of Diagnostics to lead this transformation while ensuring robust, scalable support for our current and legacy vehicle platforms operating in fleets worldwide. The Director of Diagnostics will lead the strategic transformation of diagnostics across our commercial vehicle portfolio. The ideal candidate is a forward-looking leader with deep experience in commercial vehicle diagnostics who is comfortable leading global teams, challenging traditional approaches, building next-generation software-driven solutions while also supporting existing traditional electrical architectures with diagnostic work products.

  • ECU-centric diagnostics (UDS, DTCs, signal-based troubleshooting)

  • Backward compatibility and long-term platform support

  • Drive continuous improvement in diagnostic coverage, fault isolation, and service efficiency for legacy platforms.

  • Manage complexity across mixed fleets where traditional and SDV/SOVD vehicles coexist.

Transition to Software-Defined Diagnostics (SDV/SOVD)
