Controller - Retail

Description

BROAD FUNCTIONS: This position is responsible for managing the Company’s financial and accounting systems and providing leadership in areas such as strategic finance operations, contract management, facilities and risk management. This position will work closely with the CEO, CFO and COO on strategic initiatives. This position will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, cash and inventory management, general ledger account reconciliations, and analyzing financial statement analaysis with an eye towards process improvement to gain efficiencies and strengthen internal controls.

This is a Full-Time On Sight position

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare financial reports for internal and external users 
2. Manage the month-end close process
3. Bank and inventory reconciliations
4.  Internal Auditing
5.  Financial Analysis
6.  Account Reconciliation
7. Rebate analysis and accounting
8. Pricing analysis
9. Prepare and perform analysis of schedules for periodic state and IRS requests
10. Managing monthly, quarterly and annual excise tax filings

Requirements

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

1. Foundation of knowledge of regulatory and GAAP accounting standards
2. Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
3. Strong attention to detail while prioritizing and managing changing priorities in a fast pace environment
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills;
5. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite, with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel
6.  A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business or related field is required
7. An MBA and/or CPA is preferred
