JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Mont Alto is seeking applicants for part-time job of head coach for women's basketball. This is a part-time position.

Job Duties

Duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes.
  • Monitoring academic progress.
  • Scheduling, practice planning, and fundraising.
  • Conducting youth camps/clinics.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to compliance with the University, the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC), and the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association).

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, previous coaching experience at the collegiate level, but will consider high school/other coaching experience; previous recruiting experience a plus.

Compensation

This opening has a hourly component (non-exempt) which is paid at $9.50/hour for recruiting during the off-season. This opening will also have an exempt component (in-season) which is paid at $8,000 for the season.

 

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
