Aurora Medical Center Kenosha’s MS5 unit is a 16-bed medical/surgical unit located on the first floor, specializing in oncology care with a focus on inpatient chemotherapy needs. The unit maintains an average daily census of 15.8 patients and an average length of stay of four days. MS5 operates under a triad leadership model consisting of a Patient Care Manager, Unit Supervisor, and Nursing Professional Development Practitioner, while the charge nurse carries a reduced patient load to support clinical needs and daily operations. Nurse-to-patient ratios typically average 1 RN for every 5 patients and 1 Nursing Assistant for every 8 patients. Team members must obtain BLS within 30 days of hire, and RNs are required to complete telemetry training within 30 days of orientation and earn a Chem
