Summary of Job Duties:
The Statewide Parenting Program Practitioner is responsible for the implementation of the contracted parenting program in partnership with the Division of Children and Family Services program models. The Statewide Bilingual Parenting Program Practitioner will receive team training and accreditation in the contracted parenting program models. The individual in this position will be responsible for working with a training team that will consider the individual needs of families referred by the division and will tailor programming accordingly. This position is directly responsible to the Parenting Program Implementation Coordinator. State and federal laws and agency/institution policy govern this position.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree OR must complete Bachelor's by or before the position start date;
- Experience working with children and/or families;
- Experience with facilitating classes or groups;
- Work outside of regular business hours and travel is required;
- Must be fluent in Spanish.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Master’s degree with licensure in the field of study when appropriate;
- Two or more years of direct experience leading groups of parents and/or children across diverse populations and settings;
- Experience facilitating parenting programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Training and Implementation:
- Complete training and become accredited in the contracted parenting program models;
- Assist in the referral process from DCFS.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Present as proactive and use open communication with program participants and DCFS staff (phone, email, in-person) between sessions and additionally (as needed);
- Receive weekly supervision and problem-solve issues that may arise.
Facilitation:
- Work with the education team to evaluate the specific needs of families referred to the program and tailor programming accordingly;
- Facilitate contracted parenting program curriculum in-person and via virtual platforms (as required);
- Engage parents in active skills training, role play
