Job Summary: The primary purpose of your position is to ensure residents are served meals timely and in a courteous fashion and in accordance with current standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our community and as directed by the Dining Services Manager/Executive Chef.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.)
· Assist with dining room set-up based upon resident needs.
· Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
· Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in dining room/servery, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
· Clean dining room ensuring tables and chairs are clean and floors are swept/mopped.
· Assist in distribution and collection of menus, taking of meal orders, processing of room service tickets, and distribution of meals.
· Maintain a clean, sanitary, and well-organized dining room in accordance with established policies and procedures.
· Clear, clean and re-set tables. Carry soiled utensils, etc., to wash area.
· Ready soiled linens for wash and wash as necessary.
· Ensure supplies are stocked and ready for next shift (i.e.: rolled napkins, salt/pepper shakers filled, sugar/cream containers filled, etc.).
· Follow established dishwasher/cleaning procedures.
· Ready and dispose of garbage taking to designated area.
· Report complaints and grievances to the Dining Services Manager/Executive Chef.
Qualifications:
· Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with others, have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
· Works with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED preferred.
· One year of working as a Dining Server preferred.
