Want to shape the future of Avionics?  This position is for a software engineering intern for the Avionics Advanced Technology team.  This group supports the Avionics Strategic Business Unit in researching, maturing, and transitioning technologies that enable advanced capabilities and operations in both commercial and military aviation spaces. The team is cross-functional and composed of systems, software, hardware, and human factors engineers with a variety of expertise.  Areas of near-term focus include flight deck design and systems automation with an emphasis on enhancing safety and efficiency.

As a member of the team, you will be part of a highly motivated and extremely innovative team supporting the development of rapid prototypes and proof of concepts for internal and external demonstrations.  This is a unique position where every day will be a little bit different with new challenges and problems to be solved.  This will allow you to use your diverse set of skills and push you to continually to learn new ones. What You Will Do:

•  Contribute to the design and development of proof of concept including software and hardware prototypes
•  Maintain our various labs and demonstration rigs
•  Exploring new technologies to support our prototyping capabilities

What You Will Learn:

• Flight deck design and evaluation
• Flight deck operations
• Rapid prototyping process and tools

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Displays experience using Python, Git, and Linux
• Experience Autonomous systems
• Experience with Microcontrollers such as Arduino or other embedded devices
• Demonstrates good communication skills
