Job Description Summary

The HRIS Business Analyst - Workday serves as a consultative liaison between cross-functional HR teams and technical HRIS teams. The position will identify and document the business needs; collect, confirm, and write business requirements for Workday system enhancements and projects; and oversee the implementation of solutions inside the Workday system. This role will also actively partner with outsourced HRIS resources to deliver solutions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Elicit requirements from functional HR teams through interviews to understand the current process and the desired result

  • Set up technical teams for success by writing comprehensive business requirements

  • Perform testing and validation of deliverables prior to functional team user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure requirements are met

  • Assist in coaching and supporting functional teams with UAT and end-to-end testing considering downstream impacts, tracking testing progress, pass/fail and feedback; ensure appropriate data sets are available for functional teams

  • Obtain all required UAT documentation and approvals needed for production deployment

  • Serve as a key collaborator between HRIS, HR functional teams and the outsourced HRIS vendor on the implementation of Workday system changes to ensure successful implementation

  • Work with functional HR and technical teams to educate, prepare and test for upcoming Workday releases

  • Collaborate with cross-functional HR teams including Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Talent Development, HRBP, HR Operations and the business to understand our business strategy, processes, services and roadmap to maximize our Workday system and drive success

  • Understand, communicate and plan for Workday cross-functional system touchpoints and impacts around configuration, business processes, reporting and integrations

  • Work in partnership with functional HR and technical team members to ensure successful translation of business needs into technical system requirements and acceptance criteria

  • Provide input to help functional HR and technical leads prioritize system enhancement requests on the roadmap

  • Serve as the liaison with the training department to educate users on how to navigate and use the system

  • Create documentation and materials to support user adoption

  • Continually build awareness and knowledge of Workday system and new functionality

  • Understand and promote data governance and ensure attention to data quality

  • Understand and ensure security and data privacy standards

  • Other projects and duties as assigned


Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor ’s degree in Human Resources, Information systems or Computer Science or equivalent experience plus 3+ years of experience and knowledge of Workday (across multiple products) and extensive knowledge of HR business processes and functions

  • Workday post implementation experience required

  • Demonstrated ability and experience writing and executive test strategies and plans

  • Demonstrated ability and experience translating business needs into written technical business requirements

  • Exceptional analytical ability, strong technical, problem solving and business intelligence skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong customer service orientation, demonstrating a full understanding of the needs of the customer and ability to develop strong relationships across functional and technology teams
