Texas A&M University’s Chemistry Department is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct research in solid-state chemistry with an emphasis on magnetic materials. This position is responsible for leading and contributing to research projects, preparing manuscripts for publication, developing research proposals, and assisting with graduate student mentoring and research group organization.
Opportunities to Contribute
Conducts research in solid-state chemistry with an emphasis on magnetic materials.
Operates, utilizes, and maintains specialized laboratory research instrumentation while strictly adhering to applicable safety standards.
Analyzes, interprets, and disseminates research results through group meetings, scientific presentations, manuscripts, periodic reports, and grant proposals.
Engages in ongoing professional development by attending scientific meetings and seminars and staying current with relevant scientific literature.
Provides advice, assistance, and mentorship to students and other laboratory team members.
Qualifications
PhD in a science-related field.
A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:
PhD in solid-state chemistry, inorganic chemistry, or condensed matter physics.
Graduate student research work experience.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Contributes to team effort by working effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds.
May require working evening and/or weekend hours.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
Special Note: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.
