Associate Head Women’s Soccer Coach/Lecturer

About the role

Assists the Head Coach for Women’s Soccer with all aspects of coaching, recruiting, and training for athletic competition at the Division I level. Adheres to all governing procedures and regulations of the Athletic Department, University, Conference, and the NCAA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in the evaluation, identification, recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the Women’s Soccer Program in accordance with University, Conference and NCAA guidelines and standards. Maintains accurate records of recruiting activities as required. 
  • Responsible for overseeing all on and off-campus recruiting activities.
  • Oversees community engagement activities, including the coordination of youth clinics, coaching outreach and service projects.
  • Oversees the Faculty Liaison program to enhance a more consistent and coordinated relationship with our team.
  • Assists and coordinates training and practice sessions.  Ensures that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained.
  • Aids in the management, coordination and administration of the entire program to include game scheduling, organization and administration of summer soccer camps, equipment procurement, recruitment budget, and gathering and analyzing statistical/academic information for National Recognition Awards. 
  • Scouts opposing teams and analyzes film to create practice and game strategies.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships that reflect courtesy, civility and mutual respect.
  • Builds productive relationships with internal and external constituencies. 
  • Commits to organizational improvement by identifying opportunities to improve, recommending possible alternatives for a situation.
  • Utilizes coaching and mentoring methods which provide an environment that is anticipatory, supportive and encourages constructive feedback on performance.
  • Monitor academic progress, including advising, mentoring and instructing as assigned.
  • Works with booster groups; helps to establish activities and goals consistent with Department and NCAA rules.
  • Represents the University to external groups through public speaking appearances.
  • Assume responsibility for decision making in the absence of the Head Coach.
  • Works with Athletic Marketing and Promotions to increase program visibility and game attendance.
  • Oversee data analytics for competition season. The Wyscout analytics platform has enabled us to maximize team and player development via the use of game analytics.  Following every game, we receive a 30-page report with individual and team data.  These reports need to be interpreted, and the information extracted and disseminated to the team and players. 
  • Technology Specialist – responsibility for overseeing all of women’s soccer’s technology platforms and the accounts associated with these platforms.
  • Other reasonably related duties as assigned by the head coach.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written skills.
  • Experience in playing and/or coaching at the collegiate level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations.
