Patient Access Cashier

JOB PURPOSE 

The cashier serves as a support to patients and other internal departments to ensure that the patient's financial obligation to the hospital is met.

QUALIFICATIONS 

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently. 

LEVEL OF EDUCATION 

Minimum: 

Preferred: High school diploma, with some college coursework. 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Minimum:

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Minimum: Basic MS word and Excel skills. 35 wpm keyboard/typing speed. Basic math skills. 

Preferred: Advanced knowledge of MS Office software, including Powerpoint 

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE 

Minimum: One (1) year of bank teller experience or one year of experience in an office, hospitality, or customer service environment. 

Preferred: Related work experience in a hospital environment with a working knowledge of all billing and/or registration systems, including insurance carriers, contracts, and types of medical coverage.
