Senior Director, Environmental Products Portfolio Management Sunnova Energy is searching for a Sr. Director to be responsible for managing the people, physical position and P&L associated with one of the most diverse and dynamic environmental product portfolios in the U.S.  Sunnova manages a large and growing portfolio of solar generation and storage assets that generate solar renewable energy credits, solar incentives and peak clean energy credits in every material compliance and voluntary market in the U.S.  By the end of 2024, Sunnova will have the capacity to generate environmental products in every State and Territory in the U.S., representing a substantial opportunity for portfolio growth in an already profitable department.  This role offers unique professional development potential and rapid advancement opportunity with demonstrated performance. 

Resopnsibilities

  • Manages (including hire, fire, develop) the team and operations from new asset enrollments to production reporting to sale and monetization via bilateral, exchange and structured transactions 
  • Accounts and is accountable for Sunnova’s environmental products physical position, ensuring that all delivery obligations are recorded in core systems, that Energy Services is meeting its delivery and production reporting obligations, and that Sunnova is collecting and recording revenue for its performance. 
  • Delivers the P&L objectives assigned to the environmental products portfolio and ensures financial reporting reflects an accurate P&L 
  • Prepares and delivers all internal and external environmental products reporting requirements 
  • Directs internal Legal and Reg Affairs resources to maintain an informed and accurate view of the material risks associated with portfolio 
  • Collaborates with Finance’s Mid Office function to develop best practices for a scalable and controlled business

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficient in operations associated with enrolling assets in renewable energy registries, PJM-GATS preferred 
  • Proficient in the regulatory frameworks and timelines that govern the duration of environmental product values 
  • Proficient in operations of environmental product markets including CBL and Nodal Exchange 
  • Proficient in corporate practices applying industry standard controls to commercial transactions 
  • Proficient in generating, interpreting and communicating portfolio positions 
  • Education required: Bachelors required; Masters preferred 
  • Minimum years of experience required: 12+ years 
  • 7+ years of environmental product and market experience  
  • 5+ years with management experience 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in residential solar installation and operation industry 
  • Previous experience in company using SalesForce as a source of truth system 
  • Previous experience using case management processes for asset management 

Additional Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Proficient in MS office tools, such as Outlook and Excel 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Extended period of time working at a computer workstation 
  • Open-office environment
