<p><b>Role Overview:</b></p><p></p><p>This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineers or Senior Infrastructure Cloud Engineers with proven experience in cloud computing platforms (AWS).  You will be tasked with transforming business requirements into robust cloud infrastructure solutions which forms the underlying foundation for all distributed systems and applications of the LSE Group.</p><p><br/>As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer specializing in Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will lead the design, implementation, and management of our AWS-based cloud infrastructure. Using your extensive AWS expertise, you will support and enhance our cloud environment, ensuring scalability, high availability, security, and cost-efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with various teams to drive cloud adoption and implement AWS standard methodologies.</p><p></p><p><b>Main Responsibilities:</b></p><p></p><p>AWS Infrastructure Design and Implementation:</p><p></p><ul><li>Architect and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, Direct Connect and more.</li><li>Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using Terraform and AWS CDK, with configuration management using YAML and JSON.</li><li>AWS Platform Management and Optimization:</li><li>Manage and optimize AWS resources to ensure high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency.</li><li>Monitor AWS services using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other AWS monitoring tools to maintain system health and performance.</li><li>AWS Security and Compliance:</li><li>Implement AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, VPC design, security groups, and AWS Key Management Service (KMS).</li><li>Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2, by using AWS compliance tools and frameworks.</li><li>Automation and AWS DevOps Integration:</li><li>Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins to automate deployment processes.</li><li>Integrate AWS services with GitLab and Jenkins for streamlined development and operations workflows.</li><li>Implement and manage deployment automation and orchestration on AWS using tools like Jenkins and GitLab Runners.</li><li>Collaboration and Technical Leadership:</li><li>Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development in AWS technologies.</li><li>Collaborate with software development, IT, and business teams to align AWS cloud solutions with organizational goals.</li><li>Incident Management and AWS Troubleshooting:</li><li>Respond to and resolve incidents related to AWS infrastructure and services.</li><li>Conduct root cause analysis for AWS-related issues and implement preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.</li><li>Documentation and Drawing Creation:</li><li>Create detailed documentation for AWS infrastructure, processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain comprehensive records.</li><li>Develop and maintain high-quality architectural diagrams and user documentation to support project planning and execution.</li><li>Use tools like Lucidchart, Draw.io, or similar to produce clear and accurate technical drawings and diagrams.</li><li>Agile Practices and Tools:</li><li>Work effectively within an Agile Scrum team, participating in and understanding Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.</li><li>Use Jira for task management to track progress and manage backlogs.</li><li>Use Confluence for documentation, team collaboration, and sharing project information.</li><li>Automated Testing and CI/CD for Infrastructure as Code:</li><li>Implement automated testing strategies for Terraform scripts and Python applications within CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Integrate testing frameworks and tools (e.g., pytest for Python, Terratest for Terraform) into CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliability and consistency of infrastructure deployments.</li><li>Continuously improve testing methodologies and practices to enhance the quality of Infrastructure as Code deployments.</li></ul><p></p><p>Advanced AWS Networking:</p><p></p><ul><li>Design, configure, and manage AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environments to ensure secure and efficient network architecture.</li><li>Implement advanced VPC features such as VPN connections, NAT gateways, and peering.</li><li>High-Level Understanding of Direct Connect:</li><li>Possess a high-level understanding of AWS Direct Connect for establishing dedicated network connections between AWS and on-premises environments.</li><li>Collaborate with network engineers to architect and manage Direct Connect setups for hybrid cloud solutions.</li><li>Innovation and Continuous Improvement:</li><li>Stay up-to-date with AWS services and emerging cloud technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our cloud strategy.</li><li>Propose
