Design Intern; Shed (Timberland)
What will you do?
A day in the life of a Design Intern at Timberland looks a little like this.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Shed; this role will work with other designers to assist in the design of innovative and unique products with a primary focus on creating prototypes.
Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
- Assist in the creation of footwear prototypes
- Create digital patternmaking through the use of Adobe Illustrator or Rhino 7+
- Participate in hands on operations through sketching, cutting, and glueing
- Assist with cutting and assembly operations including the use of automated cutting tools, skiving, pressing and sewing
What do you need to succeed?
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 0-1 years of experience and professional achievements.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams
- Strong interest in learning about the footwear creation process and gaining insight into the footwear industry
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
